Speed Trap at FM-2222 (Ranch Rd.), Austin, TX

- Latitude: 30.3413
- Longitude: -97.7747
- Description: •It's not unusual to find motorcycle cops radaring between 8:30-4:00 on weekdays and mid-morning to late evening 7:30 on weekends. They tend to hide in the shade under the trees. They are most heavily concentrated between Mesa Drive and Mt. Bonnell Rd. They've recently started hiding in the drive slip of several condos at the bottom of Mt. Bonnell Rd and 2222. Again, I usually see them on weekdays between 8-4:00.

•I got stuck here in Fall 07. Black car hiding in bushes in private drive, Eastbound, just past Mt Bonnell Dr, and shooting instant on radar thru hole hollowed out bushes. There were 2 or 3 cars a few car lengths in front, but he picked me out.
Have also seen them behind shrubs in private drive to house at the top of the Bull Creek curves.

I have to confirm this one as of 11/9/2007. My girlfriend got hit with 65 in a 45 -- 4500 Block of 2222 (going down the hill). It was not a motor jock, it was a regular patrol unit. I see the motor jocks taxing motorists pretty frequently on my daily community in both directions in this area. Interestingly, I've never seen a collision here, but I'm sure the enforcement is all for safety and not revenue.
