Description: Avron Blvd. is an alternate route to go from Lake Villa Dr. to Bissonet Dr. mainly used when traffic on W. Esplanade Ave. is backed up or congested. From Lake Villa to Transcontinental the speed limit is 30 MPH which is obeyable, but once you cross Transcontinental it drops to 20 MPH and there is always a motorcycle cop behind some bushes in someone's yard. It's very easy to continue driving at 30 MPH in that 20 MPH zone and the cops that have got me have wrote me tickets for as little as 4 over. It's a shame that such popular and convenient road would have a ten mile an hour drop.

I agree with the accuracy of most of this description. The cop I have seen is about 2-3 blocks from the Avron/Transcontinental intersection on Avron heading towards Kenner on the River side of the street under a large tree and sometimes in between cars. The sign changes to 20 about 1 block away from the cop's location. I have seen a cop catching people as early as 6:30 in the morning, during the middle of the day, late afternoon and early evening. My guess is he'll catch people both ways, but his concentration is more with people heading away from Kenner headed on Avron because there is a bend which makes it harder for motorists to determine the cop's existence. You have a better chance of seeing him if you are heading towards Kenner on this street as opposed to heading away from Kenner
