Latitude: 21.3774
Longitude: -157.924
Description: Police are posted in either (eastbound/westbound) direction about once a month. Hawaii speed limits are set notoriously low, and this residential area is posted at 35, but most people (easily) do 45-50. As most of the road is curvy, you can't usually see them until you're caught.

I live on the street in Aiea that this refers to. Haven't seen a cop in ages! Also, the posted speed limit is 25 mph. There's a sign right outside our house.

Rightfully so that there's a speed trap in this area since there has been one death already a few years back. I often use this street to and from my parents to my house and I have seen so many speeders.

Having been raised in Aiea and being very familiar with Ulune Street I must reluctantly agree that 45 -50 is too fast. Don't get me wrong I have posted multiple speed traps on this site but I post only those which are unreasonable & clearly a for profit enterprise by the police. This one isn't one of them.

The speed limits in a residential area in Aiea is set appropriately especially along Ulune Street. There are seven crosswalks & with people 'speeding' at 45 to 50 mph on Ulune Street, it's amazing people haven't been killed crossing the street. Ulune Street is a major thoroughfare through a residential area not the city. We need to heed the speed limit in this area.
