Description: There is over 20 reserve officers who patrol this village. The officers drive a black Chevy Impala, which is very hard to spot. They can run radar from the front and rear of their cruiser. They point their radar down Granville Street and they pull multiple people over at the same time. They usually issue tickets 9 out of 10 traffic stops. The speed limit drops from 35 mph to 25 mph. It is only 25 mph for 200 feet, then it returns to 35 mph. If you have a headlight out, brake light out, or even a license plate light and you come through this small village, you will get a ticket...

Hey . Just wanted to warn everyone that I was just nailed in Alexandria for a 65 dollar fine. Not for speeding mind u, but,...for just running my plate as they sat at the 35 ml an hr sign.I was unaware of my drivers license being expired due to the fact I reported it missing/stolen. Simple over looked mistake. When I asked what they pulled me over for, he simply stated,"we ran your plates". I said for what, and he said, "because we can".I was not breaking any laws. I had my child with me and it upset him. He cried. That made me upset. I knew the moment he walked up he had determination to just flat out give me a ticket. Let me just tell everyone that I have never had a speeding ticket in my life, and have a clean record, he just ruined over something this pety. I believe an outstanding citizen like my self should have got off w a warning being that I was unaware. Not only did this officer give me a ticket but asked me to pull my car over and get a ride. I live in Newark ohio. Now not only did he nail me with a fine, but I believe was setting me up for another one. It was the local library, that requires only 2 hour parking, where he directed me to park. I couldn't belive these guys!! I luckily got a ride. But my son and I sat in the cold waiting. Very rude and inconsiderate of these officers.Looking to take everyone and anyones money.I'm a full time student and a single mom. Taking money I don't have. If anyone has advice on what to do, or want to rally against this unnecessary behavior and try to change the law, give me details. I am soooo dumbfounded.I still can't believe this really happened.
