Highway 167
The Maurice "City" police usually set up radar in the median of Highway 167, either on the North or South side of the village… vehicle is marked, but w/o lights on the top. They will stop you for 3 mph over the limit, but they usually don’t give OWI tickets (too much paperwork, and no holding cell).

The whole town of maurice is a speed trap!
You are right about drunks all over the roads with all the bars. It is known as slaughter highway as the drunks leave the bars by the hundreds on weekends. This was the most dangerous place I ever lived and we finally moved so our children would not be raised where alcohol is the way of life. The kids are taught to drink by the parents at early ages. Even school parties have alcohol with parents trying to keep them from driving thinking they are doing the right thing.
