Hwy 4 downhill westbound approaching old Copperopolis

There is a long downhill approaching the turnoff for old Copperopolis. They will get you if you go even 5 miles over. slow vehicles need to use turn outs and be considerate.

Comments:
I received a ticket in this exact location. When your coming down the west bound grade, before you know it your going 70 mph. The CHP wait at the bottom in the east bound lane and have you nailed when you round the downhill curve. It cost me almost $200. with paying the ticket & going to driving school to keep it off my record. I live up here in Calaveras County. A hint to everyone that reads this....(tell your friends & family who may visit too).....I strongly recommend that you do not exceed the posted speed limit up here. In some areas it's 65, but for most it's 55. The CHP have a strong presence up here to reduce accidents and control speeders. They are pretty good guys but do not hesitate to do their jobs and love to write tickets. People come up here from the bay area are used to being in a big hurry (i know, I'm from the BA). They have a field day and can stay in any given area and write tickets all day long if they wanted to.........make sure you do not exceed the posted speed. Save yourself a lot of money. You never know what corner they're around waiting.
