There is construction on Lamar Drive right now & the road is temporarily closed but will probably be open by the time school starts again. It is one of the worst speed traps in Richmond. The cop parks right off Lamar Drive on Crestwood and gets folks when they turn onto Lamar Drive from FM 1640 which is also known as Avenue I or when they approach the school from the other direction. The speed limit is 20mph because it is a school but it is so easy to go over the limit as you make the turn from the FM highway. Richmond gets a huge amount of money from tickets issued at this location and every single school day several tickets are issued to drivers between about 7:15a.m. and 8:15a.m. (just estimating the time) Be careful!! Even the city judge warns people about this location!!
