Interstate 40, Exits 24 and 27
This site is Located near a Highway patrol station in Clyde, NC
Troopers set under overpass and stop east bound traffic at Exit 24 and park on road side near curve to stop west bound traffic near Exit 27. This is some of the straightest, safest part of I-40 in this area. A few miles further west would be too dangerous for this type activity as it is in the Pigeon River Gorge that is very crooked with limited sight distance.
