Along the Horace harding Expressway at LIE Exit 26

Fresh Meadows, New YorkJun 16, 20144 Comments

School Zone camera speed trap located on the east bound Horace Harding Expressway from a point at the LIE Exit 26 ramp and Francis Lewis Blvd.

Most likely to get caught exiting the LIE onto the Horace harding eastbound with speed greater than the posted for 30mph.

Comments:
The camera is located just past the overpass on the left hand side. This is a school zone speeding camera ticket - there are NO school zone signs posted.

I received 4 in one week.. really ridiculous! No signs... it's just a trap to get more money. I have seen another area where it's 30 miles hr and drops to 15 by school. They should HAVE TO have signs showing where the school zone begins and ends. Your driving and all of a sudden there's a school and that's it! I can see if you are really speeding and then you should get a tkt for that anyway speeding down a street, but this has gotten out of hand with these school zones. If the speed limit is going to drop like that way before and after a school and you "were already staying within the speed limit" why can't they let us know it is now going to drop below the "speed limit" that you were driving in??? Question - what about the parents that double and triple parked outside the schools blocking roads and just sitting there waiting for their kids! Thats doesn't deserve a ticket!

Do these school zones count if it's a high school and college too???? what about weekends or holidays or 6:30 at night? If their going to give tickets for this they should have to indicate what applies and where and when !! Oh, wait but then they wouldn't make money off of us .. ah!

Maybe they should change the name of Horace harding Expressway to Road!! Could you please explain it to me when There is a thick wall along the westbound that separates the expressway from the neighborhood, why the speed limits is 30 MPH? and police claim it is the residential area? Of course, all the highways and expressways pass through the residential areas!!! thank you
