U. S. Highway 65, north of Lake Providence
East Carroll Parrish sheriff’s deputy, patrolling highway, was pulling them over as fast as he let the last one go. The area in question is flat open farm land, the posted speed limit of 55mph is well below what is a safe driving speed.

The sheriff's department here does not even write a ticket unless you are doing 70 mph or more, which is 15 mph over the posted speed limit! The 55 mph speed limit is set by the state...whether it is too low or not is a matter of opinion and an issue to be taken up with the state. this is also an area with a lot of accidents caused by wildlife in the highway!
