Near any city limits sign but particularly near I-5 overpass – eastbound.

Most of Ferndale is 25MPH where 35 MPH would be reasonable. The Ferndale cops sit behind obstructions or on "off" ramps, etc. especially at the bottom of hills, or where traffic would expect to go at least 30 or more. I was stopped but not ticketed in the McDonald’s restaurant stretch, and believe I was let go because they were interested in drunken drivers and make the big bucks, I was sober and only exceeding the 25 speed limit by less 10 mph. Ironically, by the time I was pulled over, I stopped just beyond the "35 MPH sign". I think Ferndale supplements their city income through strict enforcement of unrealistic 25 MPH zones, should probably be 35 everywhere but school zones and old town Ferndale.

Comments:
Definitely the I5 overpass. I was travelling north on I5 at about 11:00 pm. I exited and crossed over the freeway to get a coffee at the Dairy Queen on the next corner. Returning, I crossed over I5 again to continue northbound. The cop pulled me over on the on ramp and ticketed me $124 for doing 35 in the 25 zone on Main Street. I have searched Google Street View extensively and cannot find any indication of a speed limit sign in the short section of Main Street that I used. Highway robbery! I'll never patronize a Ferndale business again.
