US-66 east of Oklahoma City
Highway construction has routed all US-66 traffic through the middle of this tiny town, which, admittedly, does create potential problems for citizens and travelers. The "main street" is narrow and winding and 25 mph certainly warranted. However, changing the old 65 mph signs all of a sudden a mile out of town down to a sudden 45 mph smell of entrapment.

Signs are clearly visible and within state statutes of distance required. If you want a speed trap, drive on west to Luther and Arcadia. But, if you are speeding well above the posted limit, you will and deserve the ticket you get. The police here are generous with the exception of the Chief of Police at the time of this posting (8-18-2012). But, all he does is sit in the office all day and only leaves at noon for lunch and 3pm to go to Bev's/ON-Q for a coffee and chat.
