Anniston, Alabama Speed Traps
431 north going out of Anniston
Some construction work HAS BEEN on parts of hwy, BUT NOT AT 12:30 A.M. speed limit says 55 (the speed that we was traveling) going down hill, Police sits at BOTTOM of hill in the media with radar on in the dark with no lights, when you get pulled over they claim that the speed limit is 30 mph due to construction, we saw NO 30 mph signs, No construction, No closed lanes, No traffic and still almost a $300.00 ticket, “I WILL NEVER TRAVEL THRU ANNISTON, AL AGAIN”.
Anniston Beach Road/ Four Mile Drive
County, State Troopers and Weaver Cops set up a road block in this area at least 3 times a month, speed limit is 35 on this road, not checking just for speed but for everything. Also set up road blocks on Four Mile Drive at the church.
Parkwood Drive
State troopers are sitting up no less than 6 times per month on this road..writing an enormous amount of tickets..Avoid this road at all costs if all possible.

First, road signs say highway under construction. They have been that way 2 times in last 6 months and have yet to see any sign of construction. No dirt being moved, no construction equipment. I have seen numerous law enforcement vehicles on both the east and west bound sides. Road appears to be in good shape so, based on my police background, the speed limit was dropped to 55 in order to generate revenue. Maybe they are going to use that to “fix” the roads. NOT!
I20 from ga state line to anniston
Speed limit has dropped from 70 to 55 as of march 17 2010. This 40mile section of road is now a hugh speed trap!!! Local news says the road contitions are soo bad that the police had to lower the speed limit. The road is old, but very fine.
Just watch out!!!
