U.S. Hwy. 98 between Morphy Ave. and Fairhope HS

U.S. Hwy. 98 changes (going north) very quickly from a 4 lane road lightly traveled at most hours to the part through the Fairhope/Montrose/Daphne line. There is no objection to keeping speed under control during the daylight/travel hours but the FPD in particular seems to use this section at off hours as a way to make ticket quotas. Said to be true of Daphne section in another comment.

Town Police refill their cars in this area near the base of hill and enforce the 25 MPH Limit on a regular basis. It is difficult to maintain this speed when going down either side of the hill.

Between Co. Rd. 44 (Twin Beech Rd) and Co. Rd. 32, south of Fairhope, there is high coverage by both State Police and Fairhope PD. I travel this route daily, sometimes twice or 3 times, and see vehicles pulled over on both southbound and northbound lanes. Additionally, there’s a high school at Co. Rd. 44 and US 98 and you can count on a city car sitting in the median or slowly cruising north and south during restricted speed times. Speed limit drops from 55 to 35 in short distance. Outside of school zone, they cut a little bit of slack as I’ve met the officers going 64 and below, and have never been stopped
