Montgomery, Alabama Speed Traps
Federal Dr. between Atlanta Hwy and Garrett Coliseum
Speed limit is 35, because it’s a residential area…between 7-9AM, motorcycle cops hide in the side streets running radar. Do NOT go over 40 on Federal Dr. in the morning!
Cong. W.L. Dickinson Drive
The speed limit was 45 mph south of the Gunter AFB gate and 55 mph north of it. Now because there is some kind of work being done in the median/drainage area, the speed limit has drop to 35 mph from the Northern Bypass to at least Coliseum Blvd. The MPD has been pulling people with abandon and at will. Now they have started using the speed camera car for the people they don’t have time to pull over. So anything over 35 mph gets you a ticket in the mail.
perry hill road
automated speed cameras are in use. tickets are being mailed out. for instance, i know of a person that received a ticket for 6 miles over the limit.
Perry Hill Road at I 85
There is currently construction on the Perry Hill Road overpass at I 85. The posted speed limit drops from 35 MPH to 25 MPH in just a matter of a few feet, and a patrol car sits immediately past the 25 MPH sign. Many tickets have been issued here for speeding, with the double-fine imposed due to the construction. Many citizens have protested and a local TV station (WSFA) has provided coverage of the speed trap and complaints, but the police continue to issue tickets none the less.
Emory Folmar Blvd.
35 mph speed limit on a 4 lane road in a non residential area. A motorcycle cop sits at the tip of the median on the south end and a car cop sits in a parking lot by newell pkwy. An unreasonable speed limit and most people drive between 45 and 50. Have been driving that route for almost 6 years and never had a problem. I have gotten 2 citations in the last month and will not go that route to or from work any more.
