Vance, Alabama Speed Traps

State trooper hides behind dividing wall just before the exit.

Near Scotts / Hyponex plant. Speed limit 35MPH. Vance Police will ticket you for 37MPH

I was issued a ticket today for speeding in the school zone. When I told the officer it was not yet 7:30, he replied the school zone speed limit started at 7:15. I took pictures on the way home this evening. the northbound sign states 7:15, but the southbound sign states 7:30. Which is it, guys?

Vance police pull off on the side at night in the dark waiting for a speeder on Hwy 11 in the new construction zone trap. The speeds limits change in a short 2 mile stretch 50 to 35 then to 55. In the other direction it changes from 55 to 35 then back to 55. Funny how the south bound lane is 50 and the north is 55.

It’s not really a trap, you just have to figure out where the construction zones start and end. With all the tickets they write, one would think by now they would have a Town Hall that is not in a trailer.

State troopers regulary sit in median before Mercedes exit catching southbound motorists. Troopers are right past end of traffic divider or sitting on overpass.
