Banff, Alberta Speed Traps

They are often outside the banff park gates going towards Canmore where the Speed Limit goes from 90 to 110, they sit there and catch people anticipating the speed increase.

The Sherriffs are constantly ticketing people between the wildlife overpasses on highway # 1. They hide in the turnouts behind the trees. It is a 4 lane highway with a 90 KM speed limit.

Banff Avenue has a small playground area where the speed limit goes from 60kmh to 50kmh to 30 kmh in the span of one short block. There are almost always RC positioned in the vicinity, parked on the side street waiting.

They hide behind a small turnout/gate, which is guarded by trees. The stretch of highway, is after the water tower on your left, going towards Canmore, Alberta. After going past that, and you are above them, there is another one, watch out. They are out there frequently.

In Banff, on your way down from the Gondola, or Hot Springs, the speed limit changes from 60-40. They were on the side of the road, so as soon as you came around the corner just after Middle Springs II, they recorded your speed. Watch out.
