Highway 43 south of town

Beaverlodge, AlbertaJan 25, 20110 Comments

This area has the appearance of a rural area. There are no buildings on the highway itself only on other roads running parallel about 100-150 meters from 43 . The RCMP enforce the urban speed limit of 50 km/hr. There is no photo radar so the traffic officers pick whoever they want. It appeared that they stop out of province residents and old people even though everyone else was going the same speed or faster. They stop and ticket one after another. Alberta has few speed signs indicating resuming rural speed limits. Drivers have to guess and if they guess wrong, the police ticket them.
