Ugly, Ugly, Ugly Vehicles northbound on Stoney Trail (wide open 3 lanes up hill 80 Km/h) almost all travel this road 90 + account of it being a hill and wide open. As you approach Country Hills Blvd, speed immediately drops to 50 Km/h on top flat of hill. Police sit in center section of intersection that seperates off ramp to eastbound country hills and traffic lights. Recently, designated construction zone, so fines doubled. If your doing 80 Km/h your fine will be almost $400. Police always there, day or night, writing tickets as fast as they can.
Glenmore Westbound over the Resevoir
Unmarked van parked by the emergency roadside phone, will only get you if you don’t pay attention.
Trans Canada hwy, entering city limits from the west, eastbound.
Photo radar vehicle parked on the shoulder just past the speed change from 110km/h to 90km/h as you are going downhill entering the city from the west. While the speed limit isn’t unduly restrictive, it’s easy to exceed going downhill, especially after becoming velocitized from travelling for a long time at highway speeds. Out-of-town travellers unfamiliar with rabid Calgary police traffic enforcement zeal are particularly vulnerable. Various vehicles used here. Suspect any vehicle parked on the shoulder of being a shutter-bug.
