Okotoks, Alberta Speed Traps
State Highway 2 South near State Highway 2A South
Approximately 1 Kilometer south of the Okotoks interchange to about the Sheep River bridge. The Sheriffs sit on north or southbound shoulders and/or sideroads. Most of the time I’ve seen them, they work with two cars, one catching southbound traffic and the other catching northbound traffic. They are there at least two or three times a month.
Highway 2A southbound
White Ford Explorer from the Town of Okotoks police occasionally accompanied by a Foothills PD car or Alberta Highway Patrol. Usually parked in the Revenue Lane or just inside 60 KMH zone by the golf course entrance. NOTE: Most readings are not accurate, hence, a horse was clocked at 80 KMH while munching on grass. Tickets are frequently contested and won.
