Benson, Arizona Speed Traps
Interstate 10 between Tucson and San Simeon
I have driven this stretch at least once a year for the past forty five years and I have never gone through this stretch without seeing two or more State Troopers ticketing cars. There is plenty of mesquite and rocks for them to hide in and they will nail you for anything over 65 so keep it down.
sr 80 mile marker 297
speed 65 droping to 55 around the turn ticket states wast of fuel no way you can slow down that fast
State Highway 80 near Speed Limit Sign
Speed limit decreases from 50 MPH to 35MPH quite rapidly entailing hitting brakes once or twice to decrease speed and policecar sits around corner with radar. I watch carefully here as husband got a ticket when not paying attention to this.

State Route 80 near Forth Street
Benson city police, along with AZ Highwat Patrol take turns there and use a marked city car and AZ state cars. They are out in the open, however they have now started using unmarked vehicles such as a Blue Dodge Stratus. The highway patrol is now using a Blue and a Brown Crown Victoria along with a White Ford F-150 single cab. They actually cover from the I-10 bypass at Route 80 south to Saint David.

State Highway 90 near Interstate 10
Location was immediately south of I-10 and Highway 90, ? mile south of Gas City/KFC area; right where the entrance to Cochise Colleges campus in Benson. I was heading south bound and had just gotten off the Interstate going to Sierra Vista and Benson PD had set up a speed trap right outside the entrance to Cochise Colleges campus in Benson. They had one marked car from Benson and also an undercover, unmarked 2005ish Dodge Stratus vehicle with an Arizona Government plate on it which belongs to the city of Benson. Cars were coming over the hill from Sierra Vista heading north to the interstate and were getting nailed as the speed limit drops from 65-55- then even lower quite fast. This happened on a weekend around noon and was the first time I had seen Benson doing this. Maybe the city is hurting for some money these days.
