Tangerine Road near First Avenue

Oro Valley, ArizonaJul 03, 20060 Comments

Motorcycle cops will sit on a side street 2 miles or so west of First Ave right off of Tangerine rd. They sit on a side street on top of a hill and use the radar gun on the westbound traffic. They have a clear view of about 1-1.5 miles and they often travel in pairs. Believe what you read about Oro valley cops and speed, they will stop you in a heartbeat and very rarely will they give you a warning, most likely your getting a ticket.

Cops sits on Tangerine gunning west bound traffic about 1.2 miles after the 1st avenue light, before the la canada light. it’s after you come up over a hill, he sits in the middle and pretends to turn, but guns everyone. i’ve also seen two bike cops sitting on verch road after la canada heading west. besides that, TANGERINE IS CLEAR! speed away safely.

Cop chills behind the big hill on naranja just before the light, if you’re heading west. they’re there a lot and are invisible to east bound traffic until you pass em,

ORACLE Road

Oro Valley, ArizonaJun 07, 20050 Comments

A cop chills on the side of Oracle right after the street goes from 3 down to 2 lanes to get all the speeders passing on the right. He doesn’t use a gun, he actually does a visual check, then uses the gun, so you have no warning with a detector most of the time. Just keep your eyes open on the right side of the road once Oracle gets down to 2 lanes. Oracle is clear after this, until you get out past Tangerine. I speed everywhere and have never seen one outside of this spot.

N. Oracle Road near Construction Zone

Oro Valley, ArizonaAug 11, 20040 Comments

Tucson and Oro Valley police are now using siler suped up Ford Mustangs. The cars are unmarked, and you’d never guess they are cops. Most I have seen are parked on small side roads just off Oracle Rd and are using radar and laser to get people that are speeding in the construction zones on North Oracle, between Desert Sky and Ina Road. Use caution when going through this area, as the speed limit changes and the cops are waiting for you.
