As you enter onto South Mountain avenue, either from 24th street to head West bound, or entering from 20th street, to travel East, the nice copper on a motorcycle, is positioned at the second street east from 20th. street. The radar traffic officer is just south of the wall,on South Mountain Ave and 21st.place, working the traffic coming in either direction,which he can readily view without any difficulity or hesitation. Guess What, this is a residental district with the limit posted at 25mph. So it is a no brainer for any nonchalant driver to think, this old paved country road, would have a nice little, motor officer, poised with an noisome radar device, just waiting for you speed at any degree above 25mph to introduce himself to you. Especially, during the evenings between 3:00pm and 6:00pm.,except for Sundays or Saturdays.

Entering Phoenix Sky Harbor AP look for the "landscape maintenance worker" between the roadway in the grass easement. He’s the one without a rake in an orange vest and a big straw hat. He’ll get you then radio ahead.
56th street between Bell Road and canal bridge
When driving on 56th street between Bell Road and the canal bridge, the speed limit is 35 as oppose to the 40 mph limit north of the canal and south of bell road. There is a school located a couple of blocks west of 56th street and a school crossing at muriel drive. Not heavily enforced, but don’t think you’re safe going 45 or 50 even though it feels safe and there is no children present. Also, between loop 101 and the canal, the limit is only 40. Limits should be 40 south of the canal with a 30 or 35 school zone limit between bell road and the canal, and 45 north of the canal.
SR 51 near Thomas Rd exit
The posted speed is 65 mph all the way south until Bethany Home Rd, where it changes to 55 mph. If you are in a passenger car and a truck passes you in the right lane you cannot see the 55 mph sign. There are cameras to catch you if you exceed the 55mph limit. I was caught on camera going 66 mph. A fine was levied of $205.00
