Surprise, Arizona Speed Traps
On Greenway between Eva Ln. and Sunny Ln.
Cops occasionally park in the Surprise School parking lot entrance on the south side of Greenway between Sunny Ln. and Eva Ln. The speed limit is only 25mph through there because of the school which is fine that it be enforced. The problem I have is that I have seen the cop on many occasion sitting there in the wee hours of the morning. I`m talking 3:30-4:30am. Looks like a nice money grab operation$$$.
BELL RD and el mirage surprise az
Sheriff hides just at the edge of the bridge after el mirage headed west or easbound .. surprise and el mirage are using trucks that are very difficult to depict they are law enforcement as the lights etc are hidden ..
Best bet is do not even go 50mph unless you are headed south away from Sun City, Surprise, or El Mirage .. anything around schools and construction yields big bucks .. 250.00 min..
On Waddell Rd, West of the Litchfield Rd intersection.
A motor cop hides on the South side of Waddell across from Fry’s lot and writes ticket after ticket for east bound vehicles. They also ignore the difference between official traffic control device and private property stop, right turn only signs, etc. Exits from Fry’s lot indicate right turn only onto Waddell, a private sign. Those signs are NOT official traffic control devices and not subject to police enforcement. I was ticketed there and the citation was thrown out.
Grand Ave and Primrose
This speed trap is on the outskirts of Phoenix, on Grand Ave on the way out of town to Laughlin or Las Vegas. For those that are not familiar with this area is a pretty rural part of town on Grand Ave. It has the cameras still active which I thought were long ago turned off. Beware of this area. I did talk to the city hall where the tickets are paid for, and the woman there after I complained about it being a “Mayberry” type town and that is how they make their money. She very as a matter of fact said “that is right” slow down in this area.
North of Grand Avenue on 163rd Avenue
I have seen police motorcycle cop sitting west of 163rd. Other times a police officer in an suv setting in a left turn lane along 163rd avenue with his lights off approximately 1 mile north of grand avenue. If any citizen needed to make a turn at that area they could not.
