Yuma, Arizona Speed Traps
Interstate 8
The Highway Patrol is often hanging out on I-8 under the Pacific Ave. overpass
Interstate 8 near I-8 From Telegraph Pass all the way through Yuma East and West
Heading West into Yuma you will run into Radar DPS units at Telegraph Pass just before the Border Check and continue until out of Arizona. Heading East, they will sit in the median from exit #1 until into Welton, AZ which is another Trap already listed!
Interstate 8 near Mile Marker 14
About Mile marker 13 the speed decreases from 75 to 65. There is a slight downgrade on the highway and under the bridge several police officers like to wait. When I saw it from the top angle I assumed there was an accident. why else would 3 patrol cars be there. Of course they were focusing the radar. At the angle the devices can get several variations in speed. In my case with wind and the angle they suggested I was traveling at 99 mph when in fact I had cruise control set at 62.5. The officer who issued the violation smiled at me when I told him I would fight the ticket and said "We get overtime for going into court."
Unfortunate for the officer I had my camera phone and recording device recording all of his statments.
US Highway 95 near 32nd Avenue
When heading north into Yuma on highway 95, speed limit drops from 55 to 45 approximately one-quarter mile south of 32nd street. Posting is easy to miss. Heading south, tendency is to speed up too soon. Area is favored for stakeout by highway patrol.

16th Street near 31st Avenue
Next to the fire station before the military housing is a favorite hangout of the YPD, I’ve often seen two or three cruisers there at a time
