A very short section of State Highway 18 has a reduction in speed from 55 to 45. This is in the village of Dell where there is no reason for a speed reduction. Enforcement is very strict and the "village" has jurisdiction.

The Dell cop sits on the side of the road with his lights off. When I saw him, he was sitting on the same side as the passing traffic. It was very dangerous for him and both lanes of traffic.

The speed limit goes from 55 to 45 for a 1/4 mile stretch then back to 55. The highway doesn’t go through the town. It is on the outskirts. The cop sits behind an old house. He usually stops 20 to 30 cars a day.
