Oak Grove Heights, Arkansas Speed Traps

Please be aware that there is a sign indicating the School Zone and it says "25 when children are present", but he will write you a ticket even if children are nowhere in sight. If you point that out to him, he will change the "law" to between 8 AM an 3 PM. When yo point out that it is after 3 PM he will say "I’m not going to argue with you".

He will write the ticket as a violation of a city ordinance and not speeding so he doesn’t have to share the revenue with the state.

Northbound on State Highway 135 from Paragould, AR the State speed limit is 55 mph. As you are approaching the city limits the road curves right into 40 mph. City police park on west side of Highway 135. Also, police ‘hide’ behind pawn shop’s sign.

Village Constable. Works North from AR Hiway 34 South thru community. Lots of clutter around school house curve, squad car ‘hides’ in used car lot. $150.00 dollars bond.

On Hwy 135 North of Paragould, Ar approximately 2 miles from the city limits of Paragould you will hit the tiny town of Oak Grove Heights, population less than 500, but the city limits stretch over about 3 miles of the state highway. The speed limit goes from 55 to 40 in a heart beat and the one lone police office that works there spends his days running a speed trap at the point where the speed limit changes.

You can not pass through without seeing someone being pulled over.

Be prepared to get a ticket for going even one MPH over the limit…must be only source of income for the town.
