Palestine, Arkansas Speed Traps

This is definitely a speed trap. If you are coming into town, you had better make sure you come to a complete stop at the stop sign and count to 10. Careful with your speed anywhere in this town. Two miles over the speed limit and you may get a ticket. It is ridiculous. They obviously need to revenue.

If you thought you had rights against getting blinded by a spotlight thrown in your eyes after getting lost, pulled over and questioned while trying to buy a soda or just driving three miles over the speed limit you will find yourself in the Palestine Court Office. Do not park in a handicap parking space here. Do not drive more than 3 miles per hour over the speed limit here. Do not talk on the cell phone while driving here. Policemen, some of whom aren’t even certified to be officers much less on how to operate a RADAR sit in all sorts of places up and down Hwy 261. Out of state drivers beware..! Even worse are the ones who drive 15 miles UNDER the limit trying to force you to pass them. I was stopped once and asked for my license, and I showed it to the officer. I carry a Class A CDL which allwos me to drive anything with up to 18 wheels, but this cop wanted to see my "other" licence for driving a car. Yes, this guy hadn’t been to the academy either. Seems the city allows them up to a year before sending them. Tsk, tsk, tsk….
