Broadway Street near Manchester Street

Anaheim, CaliforniaMay 21, 20070 Comments

Traveling south on Broadway you will pass Euclid and two sets of railroad tracks will appear before reaching Manchester. The speed limit is 35 miles per hour, most do 40 or plus and then slow down once they reach the railroad tracks. There is a motorcycle cop awaiting for you, he hides on the right side of an residental street, which is located right before the tracks. The street itself is hidden unless you look for it. While parked, he is sitting on his bike and he blends in with the white wall behind him. He uses his radar and will clock you 30 feet before you reach the tracks. I was doing 51 in a 35 per his radar. I slowed down to 40 when I reached the tracks but he says when crossing Euclid he had me at 51. He does not let up on any excuses and he can be very rude. Watch out! My ticket is $248.00

State Highway 91 near State Highway 57

Anaheim, CaliforniaFeb 27, 20070 Comments

Going eastbound on the 91 after passing under the 57 freeway, a CHP cruiser takes advantage of a recess in the sound wall after NB 57 traffic merges on and just before the Kraemer/Glassell exit. He’ll squeeze himself in there and be completely out of sight. You will first notice him when he’s in your rear view mirror…sitting there and waiting for an unsuspecting victim. Sometimes (more often that not) he’s eyeballing; other times expect Ka-band radar.

Walnut Street near Ball Road

Anaheim, CaliforniaMar 03, 20060 Comments

On Walnut, just north of Ball Road, on the west side of Disneyland, there is a motorcycle cop that sits in the shadows as you’re heading south on Walnut towards Ball Rd. As a biker, I’ve often waved as I pass by, but I stopped waving when he nailed me. Posted as 35, traffic is steady there at just over 40, but because it is so near to Disneyland, the potential for foot traffic is reason enough to be a more careful driver.
