Buena Park, California Speed Traps
Malvern Street near Rockledge Drive
Motorcycle officers regularly sit hidden in the trees on the south side of Malvern between Rockledge and Country Club Drives in order to pick off unsuspecting motorists one by one as they pass by that area which lends itself to higher speeds than posted due to the few intersecting streets and long distance visability. The city has assigned officers there on and off many times over the last couple of decades but now, with the city in an economic downturn, has really stepped up the ticket writing campaign.
Beach Boulevard near La Palma Avenue
Northbound on Beach between Crescent Ave. and La Palma Ave., a motorcycle radar cop sits at the Knott’s parking area entrance. Beach curves slightly to the right at this point and you see the cop as you round the curve, usually too late to slow down.
Interstate 91 near Valley View Avenue
C.H.P. usually in white car sits behind the valley view overpass on the westbound side and waits for truckers in the #2 lane that is added before they can get over to the correct lane.
Orangthorpe Boulevard near Stanton Avenue
Motorcycle cop sits in the parking lot of a motel between Stanton and Beach Blvd on Orangethorpe at any time of the day. I have seen him in the mornings on several occasions.
91 Expressway near Valley View Street
Highway patrol officer parks on the shoulder of the 91 Westbound, just after the Valley View St Exit. looking for speeders and drivers not wearing a seat belt. there weekly
