Campbell, California Speed Traps
Deer Creek Road near Almaden Boulevard
This is a small, windy road between Almaden and Union. The posted speed limit is 25, though the road easily accomodates 35. I was ticketed for going 31 with the photo radar. Warning: you could get several of these before the first one arrives in the mail!
San Tomas Expressway near Winchester Boulevard
Heading North on San Tomas Expressway (just past the Winchester Blvd overpass) as you come down the hill the officer sits on the right behind a few trees. Because your coming down the hill of the overpass, you have a natural tendency to be going faster.
Winchester Boulevard near Hamilton Avenue
Between Hamilton and San Tomas overpass Speed limit drops from 40 to 30, where conditions of the road remain unchanged from the rest of Winchester. Speed limit increases to 35 once past Campbell.
Hamilton Avenue near Before San Tomas at the Mervyn’s
The cops will sit behind the bushes so you can’t see them and then pull you over. I’ve seen like 4 people pulled over at a time before. This is usually during lunch time.
San Tomas Aquino Road near San Tomas Creek
Heading toward Westmont High School on San Tomas Aquino in Campbell (away from Campbell Avenue) the speed limit drops from 35 or 40 to 30 abruptly after crossing the creek (concrete drainage ditch). The Campbell PD will sit in one of the side streets off the to right and catch you every time.
