Canoga Park, California Speed Traps

Usually two motorcycle officers work as a team and can be on either side of Desoto. There is a long distance between the light at Roscoe Blvd. and the one at Saticoy Street so its easy to get over the posted speed limit.

Cycle Cop sits on a side street (Fairchild) on the East side of the road and radars cars coming north.

A cycle traffic cop sitting on a private driveway ramp. He has a radar gun. You don’t notice him untill he has a bead on you and you have already been tagged. I caught him by surprise by pulling over to stop before he eagerly "jumped the gun" and pulled out in front on my ’99 honda accord. It was just a routine speeding stop but since I complained (without profanity) he opted to impound my car. He said my driver license was not renewed. Because I moved I did not receive the renewal by mail. It was $140.00 just for the impund fee 2 hours later. I had to show up at the local police station because they have to give you a release before you can pick your car up. They wanted to keep it 30 days because of my ‘smart mouth’. That would add up to a hefty 700-800 dollars. Plus the fine for speeding. I was written up for 52 mph in a 35 mph zone. Totally ridiculous speed limit. It was Saturday, Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks guy’s I contributed to the city slush fund.
