Castro Valley, California Speed Traps
Upper Center st. above Heyer at the 4-way stops
Alameda County Sherriffs park off one the cross streets on upper Center and watch the 4-way stop signs… looking for people ‘rolling’ through and making lots of stops.
This is more of "stop"-trap than a "speed’-trap, but they are still handing out tickets.
Walnut Road between Seven Hills and Almond Drive
Officer parks on side of road facing uphill and waits for vehicles to come around curves. Radar reading is taken before the driver can recognize the front of the car as a patrol car. Alternatively, CHP will position above Walnut on Parker to operate radar, a second patrol car will make the stop. Active especially during morning hours when drivers are going downhill.
