Castro Valley, California Speed Traps

There is a CHP on a motorcycle that hides on the sidewalk below the Petco store. He catches red light runners coming from the Castro Valley exit and coming up Castro Valley Blvd from Center.

As you head East toward San Ramon, the officer sits in the driveway surrounded by the white picket fence. The focus is traffic headed East bound because the West bound traffic is just coming out of the cork screw turn and isn’t up to speed.

HighWay patrolperson is most of the times inconspicuously positioned. That segment of road – 1/2 mile stretch of 2 lanes each side from a 1 lane each side – is tempting for any motorist to increase speed. This is a magnet for multiple catches.
