Castro Valley, California Speed Traps

Redwood Road is a steep hill, but it is a very wide street. However posted speed is 25 MPH. It is impossible to do 25 MPH without riding your brakes completely down the hill. It is also difficult to climb the hill at 25 MPH. This is often a nice trap to catch "speeders". Posted speed should be 35 MPH.

Somerset is a thoroughfare that runs through a neighborhood. CHP both motorcycle & car, park on side streets and consistently nab people for 35 MPH in 25 MPH zone. This is a nice revenue for them.

CHP lurks in the curves along Crow Canyon Creek. I don’t have a detector so I don’t know what kind of gun they’re using, but it’s a speed gun. Enforcement has stepped up in recent weeks.
