Chico, CaliforniaMar 09, 20080 Comments

The CHP sits off of Hwy 99 as if you are heading North (to Chico) he sits right there by Neal Rd turn off but he is backed in so if your cruising down Hwy 99 you don’t see him until it’s to late. So slow down!

State Highway 99 near Eaton Road

Chico, CaliforniaJan 14, 20081 Comments

California Highway Patrol car sits below the Eaton Rd. bridge to catch people entering 99 going southbound into Chico. Since he is partly hidden from traffic coming up on his position, he might also get people whizzing by. Sometimes one sits in the dark along Hicks Lane or at the northbound Eaton offramp to catch people who roll through the stop at the bottom of the East side of the bridge.

State Highway 32 near Humboldt Rd & Hwy 32

Chico, CaliforniaJun 19, 20060 Comments

The local Chico California Police monitor this stretch of eastbound State Hwy 32 and use Radar that emits Ka Band on the Radar Detector. Again, the trap is between Humboldt Rd and Forest Ave on State Route 32. Got a ticket for doing 55mph in a 45mph zone (pre-radar detector). There are no schools and any public building along this part of the road to cause a hazard to the general public. The Chico PD hide in a grove of Cypress trees along side the road. Chico is a College town and a large part of the CPD’s income is from college students unfamilar with area.

Bruce Road near State Highway Skyway to Hwy 32

Chico, CaliforniaSep 25, 20052 Comments

Bruce Rd. between Skyway and Highway 32. There will be a Chico Police car parked on the side of the road with radar. The speed limit is 35 MPH the roadway, it is designed for 55 MPH, which most folks are doing on this long section of road. The City Cops are using cars with no lightbars and motorcycles.
The CHP also likes to use this spot to get extra tickets.
