Officers park in the driveway of Park or in the parking area of the business next door on the other side of the brick wall that divides the park and the business

San Bernardino Rd. between Irwindale & Azusa

Covina, CaliforniaMay 11, 20110 Comments

Once you are east of Irwindale or west of Azusa, San Bernardino Rd. the speed limit inexplicably drops from 40mph to 35. Also the signs become much smaller and are mounted lower. And interestingly they seem to be located in and amongst clusters of other signs. Proceed with caution as there are motorcycle officers who pull you over and almost apologetically give you a ticket. This would be funny if it were not so expensive and obviously predatory in nature.

Badillo between Third St. and Citrus Ave.

Motorcycle police officer waits on the south side of the street. I have seen him there on a weekly basis since January 2011. He is there in the morning when I go by between 8:30 and 9:00. He is in plain view…is that still a speed trap?

W. San Bernardino Road between N. Azusa Ave. and N. Hollenbeck Ave.

Motorcycle cop sits on the north side of the street in the businesses. Sign says 35 mph westbound right before get to Azusa, and if you go 40 or 43, you’re pinged. Then going eastbound you’re traveling at 40 and then it quickly turns to 35. That’s where you get it as soon as you cross Azusa. The same holds true for the parallel street of Badillo, which is south of San Bernardino Road. Covina Police Station is right by the park and the motorcyle cops are all around that area for piddly things.
