Canyon Del Rey

This road used to be only 35 mph and it was the biggest speed trap on the peninsula. EVERYONE knew you had to go 35 or less or else it was a guaranteed speeding ticket. Fortunately, they had so many tickets on this road that the Court ordered an engineering study and I am very happy to say the speed limit has now been raised to 45 mph from 35. This helps tremendously but I still advise people to never go a mile over 45 because they will be waiting for you…

Canyon Del Ray from City Hall to junction of Highway 68

Officers sit at turn outs on either side of the road on blind curves or behind the trees or in the City Hall parking lot. They use no visible means of measuring speen other than "you appeared to be going over the speed limit". Del Ray Oaks os a tiny town sandwhiched between Seaside and Monterey and has no means of city support other than the traffic tickest issued there.
