Diamond Bar Boulevard near Highland Valley Road

Diamond Bar Blvd. drops from 50 to 40 mph at Highland Valley. On Tuesdays there are several motorcycle officers with radar waiting below the crest of the hill, near the onramp to the 57 fwy North. They wait for westbound traffic coming down the hill and catch those who did not notice the 10 mph drop in the speed limit. According to the mayor, Tuesday is ticket day in Diamond Bar.

Patrol car waits around curve at top of hill. Speed limit is 60mph, but drivers floor-it to get up hill. Plus, it’s in the middle of cattle range.

Golden Springs Drive near Brea Canyon Road

This radar trap is just west of the Sycamore Canyon Park trap on Golden Springs Dr. At least two motorcycle officers sit in the In-And-Out parking lot and clock your speed westbound, coming down the hill (45 MPH). At the base of the hill it changes to 40 mph and this is where they get you. They are usually only there in the morning, during rush hours. I have actually seen them walk out in the lighter traffic situations and point to two or three cars to pull over to the parking lot of the Shell Gas Station on the corner. Great fun to sit in the Carrow’s Restaurant across the street and watch all of this going on!
