Diamond Bar, California Speed Traps
Brea Canyon Cutoff Road
LASD usually parks in the center meridian (near the fire road) after the curve. Vehicle is usually pointing downhill, but u-turns are easy enough. Speed limits vary between 35 @ E. Oak Crest Dr. to 40 on the uphill to 45 @ Pathfinder. Sheriff is also there during some evening rush hours. CHP also uses this as a shortcut to Starbucks between the 57 (dimond bld exit) & 60 (fairway exit).
Diamond Bar Boulevard near Highland Valley Road
Speed limit starts at 50 mph when heading south from Temple Avenue. As soon as you pass Highland Valley Road, it becomes 40 mph. Motorcycle cops hide out in the business center on your left side with a radar gun, knowing that the speed limit just dropped 10 mph and you may still be going 50.
Golden Springs Road near Pathfinder Road
Cop sits usually on his motorcycle in the parking lot between In & Out Burger and the Chevron Station. Beware when coming down the steep hill towards Pathfinder, much tendency to speed.
Chino Hills Parkway near Between 60 Freeway and Grand Ave.
Frequent enforcement by motorcycle Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. Usually hidden behind fence or around curve of road. Occurs especially during AM rush hour. This road borders city of Diamond Bar and Chino Hills.
Golden Springs Drive
Around 8AM in the mornings Monday – Friday, there is often a motor cycle patrol with some type of speed gun beneath a tree at Sycamore Canyon Park on Golden Springs Drive between Diamond Bar Blvd and Grand Ave. He is difficult to pick up the first time through. I think there’s a sign that says 45 mph.
