Inside Serrano Entrada Gate.

El Dorado Hills, CaliforniaMar 05, 20101 Comments

Making a right turn on Entrada, and then another right enters a school zone just up the street. There is a cross walk with a crossing guard during school entering and exiting hours. However, for the early morning and early evening commuter there is often a police car or motorcycle in the curb out of sight until its too late. Many people get tickets for not completely stopping at the stop sign and many accelerate quickly and get exibition of speed tickets. Also, on the same street are digital speedometers. One is posted on a school crossing sign and sometimes there is a big trailer style box one closer to the Entrada gate itself.

On the downhill side of Hwy 50, coming into El Dorado Hills from Cameron Park, there is a large mound of dirt in the median. Highway Patrol will sit behind that dirt mound using radar, against the downhill traffic, when you are most likely to have nudged above the speed limit.

The CHP uses a plane to patrol between El Dorado Hills & Placerville extensively on the weekends. Sometimes they will use 3 to 5 patrol cars in conjunction with the airplane to "harvest" speeders en masse. It’s worse when "out-of-towners" are around on holiday weekends or big ski weekends.
