Encinitas, California Speed Traps
Avenida La Posta Avenue near Wandering Road
Sheriff sits on Wandering Road pointing to the West and waits for people to come up Avenida la Posta and roll through the stop sign. I work in the area and I see him there daily, usually between 2:30pm and 3:30pm waiting for the traffic from the school. Don’t roll the stop, he’ll just point you over if he’s already got a customer stopped.
Santa Fe Drive near El Camino Real Street
It’s a motorcycle cop waiting for you to turn right on to santa fe drive comming from el camino real, it’s tricky because the lights are very strange there. I got a ticket and fought it and won because of that, I took lots of photos for proof that I was in the right.
State Highway 101 near La Costa Avenue
Officers hide next to trees and blend in with the shadows.
Urania Avenue near Leucadia Boulevard
Motorcycle cops hide on the side of the road just south of Brittany with radar gun pointed at every car. This is a shortcut used by many people heading to the freeway via Leucadia Blvd. You can expect to be scolded, if not yelled at for speeding on this narrow residential road. No "warning only" is ever given – you will be ticketed!
Manchester Avenue near Manchester & El Camino Real
Motorcycle mounted officers sit in numerous hiding places along the mile-long rural section of Manchester between El Camino Real & Encinitas Blvd.
