Exeter, California Speed Traps
US Highway 65 near US Highway 65
Exeter PD loves to run heavily patrolled sting type morning patrols on this route. Be warned if you spot one, many times that will not be the last on the 2 mile stretch of HW65 through Exeter. Many times they will have 2 or 3 bike cops and a couple of cars. I have even seen other cites ‘helping’ out. It seems fairly random though. Sometimes there are only 2 cops to the entire town. But the morning seems to be the targeted time for heavy patrols.

Caldwell Avenue
This is pretty out of the way, but it’s so blatant I just had to send it in. Coming into Exeter from Farmersville, it’s a long straight stretch and the speed limit is unmarked (therefore 55, but traffic normally moves around 60), then BANG! You hit the city limits and it plunges down to 35. The only warning is an inconspicuous sign saying "Speed Zone Ahead" about 200 feet from the actual sign. There are other changes in the speed limit along this road, but this is the only one so poorly marked. Exeter is a growing city and I’m sure it doesn’t mind the money.
