Empire Street near S. Auburn Street
Because of the speed change of drivers coming on Hwy 20 from Penn Valley then becoming Empire street, GVPD has been using the motorcycle guy and other patrol cars to catch folks going more than 25 mph up empire street before it meets S. Auburn at the Empire Market. I have gone by at 30 many times, about a dozen and didn’t get a hassle, so they are looking for a little faster motorist.
Rough and Ready Highway Road near Alta Street
Coming into Grass Valley heading east on Rough and Ready Road as you pass Lyman Gilmore School, Speed limit drops to 25 mph going down hill and GVPD waits down below. they write many tickets here.
State Highway 49 near McKnight Avenue
South (East) bound on 49 leaving the Grass Valley interchange at 20, driving down hill speed Limit is 55. Tendancy is to be picking up downhill speed while the Hwy 49 becomes one lane. Just past McKnight the CHP cluster with their radar guns. This is an attempt to Save lives but I add it so you all will slow down.
State Highway 49 near Alta Sierra Road
CHP is enforcing 55 on highway 49 with multiple cars pulling people over. They were located on the shady side of the road just after the passing lane which goes down the hill prior to Alta Sierra. The time was mid afternoon.
