Hayward, California Speed Traps
Second Street and Patricia Court
This is a blatantly illegal speed trap. The posted speed limit of 25 MPH is not justified by the critical speed (i.e. 85th percentile) of 32 MPH west bound and 34 MPH east bound. The outdated Engineering & Traffic Survey Report was last revised on 8/8/06 and does not support the posted speed limit of 25 MPH. The CalTrans Road System Map 5L35 shows that Second Street (between Sylvan Glen Court and Campus Drive) is classified as a minor arterial road, not a local road. Therefore CVC 40802(a)(2)absolutely applies.
Mission Boulevard and Hotel Ave
Going southbound on mission right before A street, there is a motorcycle cop there. Sheriff or Hayward PD
Industrial Blvd on-ramp to 880
Not a speed trap, the CHP does enforcement on the carpool lane here.
Hesperian Blvd. in front of Airport
Hayward Police sit on numerous side streets along Hesperian Blvd. using radar/Lidar to catch people above 45 in a 35mph speed limit. Favorite places are in front of Home Depot, or Airport Road to the South.
Calaroga Ave from Turner Ct to Cathy Way
Towards the end of each month when the HPD needs revenue they write tickets in this 25 MPH zone. There is also a stop sign half way in between these 2 streets that they sit back on Fry lane and watch tons of people doing the Hollywood stop. One thing I always remember is NEVER speed down Calaroga Ave.
