Hemet, California Speed Traps

Menlo is a different speed than Buena Vista. Often people use this way to go into the central part of Hemet and a motorcycle cop sits back on Buena Vista, just north of the stop sign, and catches you going over 25 pretty easily because Menlo is 35.

CHP sits on side of road with Radar dectector…clocking your speed. Limit Is 35mph. I know of at least 3 people that have received tickets for doing 52mph in 35. Exactly the same speeds.

There is a squad car that likes to sit behind the Aquatic Center in the driveway right before the brick wall. i have also seen one sitting in the driveway for the business behind Gary’s Video, usually at night.

On Florida St by the park there are a couple cross streets that don’t have signal lights. The city PD will have female officers dress up as the easter bunny (1) a chicken (2) & have them walk across the street. If you don’t stop for them while they are in the cross walk ( from curb to curb ) they carry a radio & they radio other officers down the street ( Car & motorcycle) They then pull you over & write you up. I have seen as many as 6 writing tickets at the same time.
