Hollywood, California Speed Traps
US Highway 101 South near Cahuenga Boulevard
Southbound 101 Fwy, Cahuenga Blvd. exit. CHP officer sits in vehicle on Cerritos Place, a side street which runs parallel to the offramp. Make sure to come to a complete stop at the end of the offramp before making left or right turn onto Cahuenga Blvd.
Outpost Drive near Mulholland Drive
This is not necessarily a speed trap but LAPD routinely posts an officer on a private driveway behind a shrub to catch drivers making left turns from Mulholland Drive onto Outpost Drive. U turns on Mulholland Drive west of this intersection are also prohibited, not a safety issue but rather just to prevent you from making a legal turn onto Outpost.
Fountain Avenue near La Cienega Boulevard
Officers on motorcycle parked on the side streets before you reach the intersection.
Interstate 101 Hollywood Fwy near Lankershim Boulevard
Highway Patrol sits in an old on ramp right between Lankershim and Highland Blvd. going south on 101 fwy. The speed limit changes 2 miles before the 134 split from 65 mph to 55 mph
Melrose Avenue near Highland Avenue
In the AM (before 7 am)on my way to work going east on Melrose from Fairfax, I have seen motorcycle cops parked on the side streets in between Fairfax all the way down to Vine Street firing radar guns at passing cars. I believe they know that the signals in the morning usually are all green and drivers might be likely to crank it up to 50+ so be careful.
