King City south to Monterrey County Line
Ka Radar. Agricultural Community has little other source of revenues. 3 – 5 patrol cars commonly seen along 30 mile stretch. Certain Officers on night shift have been observed RADARing across lanes at oncominc traffic, then loosing suspect vehicle and issuing citation to similar innocent vehicles. Avg. fine $120, but they run a scam which adds $250 to your ticket. Here’s how they do it: Citing officer will instruct motorist that he will be contacted by mail for instructions, and that the entire matter can be cleared up at that time. The court then fails to notify you and you miss your court date and the $250 is added at this time. Your first notification will then come from a collection agency in Texas in the form of a letter threatening arrest warrants. Upon confronting the King City Clerk with this they act as innocent as a baby, claiming that they "would never do that." But they refuse to refund you the $250.
