La Canada Flintridge, California Speed Traps
Angeles Crest (SR 2) at Clear Creek Vista Point
Motorcycle cop sits on the side of the road across from the Clear Creek Vista Point usually on Mondays and Fridays and uses radar on cars coming around the corner going south on SR-2.
Starcrest Boulevard
When going up Starcrest Blvd there is usually Always a patrol car hiding in between cross streets. They usually stop you for Anything. I got pulled over a couple times for no reason. They try to find anything to pull you over for.
State Highway Angeles Crest near US Highway 210 Freeway
Highway patrol park in the center of Angeles Crest Highway about 1/3 mile north of 210 freeway on moderately steep downhill grade. All vehicles that don’t constantly ride brakes will exceed the 45mph limit.
Descanso Drive near Chevy Chase Drive
Extends from Chevy Chase to Verdugo. Cars are usually cited heading northwest on Descanso. The intersection at Descanso and Chevy Chase is also heavily monitored.
Interstate 210 near State Highway 2
CHP loves to hang out on the overpasses that can be up to 100 feet over the freeway and swoop down on unsuspecting drivers. For the LA area the 210 freeway offers some of the fastest-paced driving usually over 70mph during most times of the day. And the CHP knows it.
It is possible to also point out the the motorcycle cops are basically only good for one thing: revenue generation for the local city. They are MUCH more of a threat than the cars…
