La Mirada, California Speed Traps
Rosecrans between Adelfa and Santa Gertrudes
Plain clothes Sargeant crosses the crosswalk halfway and waits on the median in the middle (hidden partially by shrubbery on the median) if you don’t see him and or don’t stop, a motorcycle officer pulls out from the side street and pulls you over and issues a ticket. Does not even ask for registration or proof of insurance. Just the driver’s license so he can write the ticket. They got 4 more just while I was pulled over. They had several officers hidden on the side street watching. It’s a busy street at 5:30
With coming home traffic, but if I would have seen him I would have stopped as would have others. Seems very unfair to try to trick you and hope you don’t see him.
Santa Gertrudes Avenue
Motorcycle hides around creek parking parking lot and across street
Stanton Avenue near Alondra Boulevard
A sheriff, usually in an unmarked car (you’ll usually won’t notice the sheriff until it’s too late), parks somewhere on Stanton between the two streets of Ashgrove and Stanbrook. He is very stern and will not only cite for speeding, but also for any illegal car adjustments such as tinted windows, lowered too low (he measures!), and etc.
La Mirada Boulevard
Motorcycle cop sits in the median right in front of the Firehouse on La MIrada Blvd south of Alicante Blvd. Always in the mornings between 7 and 8 am. Sometimes there are two, one closer to Rosecrans Blvd. Beware and slow down! Speed limit is 40 mph on L. M. Blvd.
Alicante Street near Hillsborough Street
Both police motorcycles and cars will park at berringer park in a blind spot and catch you rollin through the stop signs… Not really a speed trap, however, 5 of the 7 days in the week you will find them there. So consider yourself warned… Stop, Count To Three and Proceed! They will get you!
